Hodnocení končetin vychází ze schválené metodiky, která obsahuje podrobný popis a vysvětlení způsobu hodnocení. V případě grafického znázornění zjednodušeně platí: čím dále od středu, tím hůře.

Obvykle je známka 5 považována za ideální, naopak 1 či 9 za extrémní (nežádoucí). Některá plemena (CH, AU) a znaky mají za pomyslný střed známku 6, tato skutečnost je v grafu zohledněna.
